Before drilling, select the correct drill bit type according to the lithology of the formation; before going down the well, check whether the size, model, and nozzle of the drill bit meet the requirements; check whether the oil storage sealing system, joint threads, and weld seams are intact; do not heat the drill bit to avoid damaging the sealing ring due to high temperature; new drill bits cannot be oil-soaked or forcibly moved; check whether the size of the downhole drill string combination is larger than the wellbore size.
If there are fallen objects at the bottom of the well, they must be salvaged before drilling, and a downhole fishing tool should be used in subsequent drilling; if jumping drilling may occur due to geological reasons, a shock absorber or a suspension device should be used when drilling.
Before drilling, check and prepare the power equipment, calculate and verify the square entry, calibrate the weight indicator, and use a safety clamp for drill pipes without steps. When drilling, control the lowering speed to prevent pressure stimulation from causing leakage of the formation, especially in hard formation sections with large well deviation and irregular well diameter, prevent the drill bit from impacting the well wall, and prevent the drill bit from impacting the bottom of the well, sticking, or mud packing the drill bit due to the inertia of the drill string; once sticking occurs, it must be pulled out for inspection.
During the drilling process, experienced personnel should be assigned to observe the return of the mud and verify whether the volume of the drill string is equal to the volume of the returned mud; if there is no return for three consecutive columns, the driller should be notified immediately and measures should be taken.
Conventional Bit When drilling through inclined well sections, slow down the speed. If resistance is encountered, it should not exceed 50 kN. If stuck, do not forcibly pull it out to prevent getting stuck; if resistance or sticking exceeds 100 kN, use the method of reaming to drill down, but never start the pump or ream at the build-up point or inclined well section to prevent new shoulders from forming on the well wall and losing the wellbore.
